Transportation

Bus departs at 6:45 AM

School Attendance & Meet Transportation

• Athletes competing in the meet will be excused from school until we return to Desert Vista at approximately 12:00 PM.

• Only athletes with grades of C or higher in all classes are eligible to compete and receive a school-related absence. Athletes who do not meet this academic requirement must remain at school and will not be permitted to ride the team bus or attend the meet.

• Because this meet takes place during the school day, parents may NOT sign athletes out directly from the meet. All athletes must remain with the team and return to Desert Vista on the school bus.

• Classes missed while athletes are participating in the meet, up until the team's return to campus (with time to shower and change over in locker rooms), will be recorded as School Related Absences.

• Parents who wish to sign their athlete out after the team returns to Desert Vista must do so through the front office. Any classes missed after the team's return will NOT be considered School Related Absences.

• 9:45am Awards Presentation 

Returning to DV Approximately 12:00 PM
Athletes will have time to use locker rooms to change over before going back to class. 

Awards 

• Top two varsity boys teams and top two varsity girls teams will receive plaques. 

• Top twenty runners in varsity races will receive medals. Places 11-20 will receive their medals at the finish line. Top 1-10 will be announced during the awards. 

• Top ten runners in the open races will receive medals at the finish line. 

Bathrooms

• There are public bathrooms located at the park for athlete and spectator use. They are limited facilities, so please have athletes plan accordingly. See map. 

First Aid / Water

• There will be an athletic trainer on site for emergency needs only.

• Teams must provide their own water.

Parking

• See the map below. 

• All buses and team vans can park in the north parking lot by the multi use field.

• Spectators can park in the main parking lot (by the rec. center) that is accessed via the roundabout. Please be mindful that once races start, there will be a crossguard at the entrance to the big parking lot by the playground.
